WeInc Publish

Turn any note into a website with WeInc.

What it does

Run the command Turn this note into a website (or click the globe icon in the ribbon). The plugin:

  1. Reads the note you have open, without its frontmatter.
  2. Writes a short brief: "Build a website from this note: " followed by the note text. Embeds and links stay as plain text. Long notes are shortened (about 5,000 characters) and marked as shortened.
  3. Opens the WeInc builder in your browser with that brief filled in.

Nothing is built or sent automatically. You read the brief in WeInc and press Send yourself. You need a WeInc account to build.

No hotkey is set by default. You can add one in Settings > Hotkeys.

Privacy

  • The plugin makes no network requests. It has no API keys, no tracking and no settings.
  • Your note text leaves Obsidian only when you run the command, and only as part of the link it opens (https://my.we.inc/projects?prompt=...) in your browser.
  • What happens after that is covered by the WeInc privacy policy.

Development

npm install
npm run build # produces main.js
npm test # Node 22.6+ (runs TypeScript tests directly)

To try it, copy main.js and manifest.json into <vault>/.obsidian/plugins/weinc-publish/ and enable it under Community plugins.
