A powerful image viewer for Obsidian. Features include zooming, panning, rotating, flipping, and grayscale toggle for images within your notes.

Image Previewer allows you to view images in your Obsidian notes with advanced controls.

Features

  • Zoom: Use the mouse wheel, pinch gesture on touchscreens, or the toolbar buttons (+ / -) to zoom in and out.
  • Pan: Click and drag (or touch and drag) to move the image around.
  • Rotate:
    • Use the slider for fine-grained rotation.
    • Use the toolbar buttons to rotate left/right by 45 degrees.
    • Two-finger rotate gesture is supported on touch devices.
  • Flip: Flip the image horizontally or vertically.
  • Grayscale: Toggle grayscale mode to view the image in black and white.
  • Reset: Quickly reset all transformations to the original state.

How to Use

  1. Click on any image within your Obsidian notes (in Preview or Live Preview mode).
  2. The image will open in a modal overlay.
  3. Use the toolbar at the bottom to adjust the image.
  4. Click the Close (X) button or click anywhere outside the image to close the preview.

  1. Open Settings > Community Plugins in Obsidian.
  2. Turn off Safe Mode.
  3. Click Browse and search for "Image Previewer".
  4. Click Install and then Enable.
