An Obsidian plugin that darkens the app and lights a warm, flickering torch glow around your text cursor — like writing by candlelight.

Usage

Run Toggle torch mode from the command palette (assign a hotkey if you like).

Settings

  • Follow — torch follows the text cursor, the mouse pointer, or whichever moved last
  • Torch radius — size of the lit area
  • Darkness — how dark everything outside the torch gets
  • Glow intensity — strength of the warm glow (0 = pure spotlight)
  • Glow color — tint of the torch light and caret glow
  • Flicker — subtle candle-like flicker
  • Torch speed — how quickly the light chases the cursor
  • Keep sidebars lit — only darken the editor area

Install (manual)

Copy manifest.json, main.js, and styles.css into <vault>/.obsidian/plugins/torch-cursor/ and enable the plugin in Settings → Community plugins.
