Mode Watermark

A subtle indicator, always there when you need it.

Mode Watermark displays a faint watermark overlay in the background of your editor when you are in edit mode. The moment you switch to read mode, it fades out — quiet, unobtrusive, and always clear.

Features

Always in context. You'll never lose track of where you are. A glance is all it takes — no interruptions, no friction, just clarity.

Invisible until you need it. The watermark lives in the background, never competing with your writing. It's there when you look for it, and gone when you don't.

Feels like it was built for your theme. Mode Watermark adapts to any Obsidian theme — light, dark, or custom. No clashing colors, no visual inconsistency. It simply belongs.

Designed for every device. Whether you're on a wide desktop or a compact mobile screen, the watermark scales gracefully. Your workflow, your device, your way.

How it works

  • Edit mode — a large, blurred "EDIT MODE" watermark appears faintly in the center of your editor
  • Read mode — the watermark fades out automatically

No configuration needed. Install and it just works.
