SVG Suite

View and edit SVG files directly in Obsidian, with pan and zoom, a live source editor with syntax highlighting, PNG export, and hover controls for SVGs embedded in notes.

Features

  • Dedicated SVG viewer that opens automatically when you click an .svg file in your vault.
  • Smooth pan and zoom: two-finger trackpad scrolling pans, pinch or Ctrl+scroll zooms, mouse wheel is configurable.
  • Live source editor with syntax highlighting, XML formatting, and manual or automatic saving.
  • Export the current view as a PNG at 1x-4x resolution.
  • Background presets (dot grid, checkerboard, solid dark/light, theme default) to preview SVGs against different contexts.
  • Hover controls (zoom, reset, expand) on SVGs embedded in your notes.
  • Commands for fit to view, toggle code panel, and export PNG, so you can bind hotkeys.

Usage

Open any .svg file in your vault; it opens in the SVG Suite viewer automatically. Use the toolbar to zoom, fit, or open the source panel. Edit the source directly and press Save (or Ctrl/Cmd+S) to write changes back to the file.

Settings

All behavior (background, scroll gesture, auto-save, export scale, inline embed controls) is configurable from Settings → SVG Suite.
